SYSTEMS AND PROCESSES
This equipment is used to obtain a physical separation (by different densities) of liquids from the sedimentable solids or grease and oils. In the case of the decanters, we have a well proven system to handle the sludge in the bottom of the decanters. The sedimentable solids precipitate and the supernate water overflows as clarified water. As for the degreasers, our system separates grease and oils that tend to move to the surface where they are removed. In this case a superficial deflector is placed to separate grease and oil from recuperated water.
Clarifiers are equipment that by physical process separates solid matter from water. These vary in equipment, since these may or may not include mechanisms to rake the bottom or surface (removing grease and oils) and their form may be either rectangular or circular.
The thickeners reduce the amount of sludge removed in the decanting and /or clarification equipment so as to help minimize handling and disposal costs. As in the case of the decanters and the clarifiers, these also achieve a separation of the water from the sedimentable solids simply by gravity. In some cases a polymer may be required to facilitate the sedimentation.
The main function of this equipment is to remove total suspended solids and in the case of filtration with anthracite, the amount of grease and oils are reduced to acceptable levels for the final user. The filter with activated charcoal removes organic matter, traces of heavy metals and chlorine.
Softeners are used in situations where the water has a high mineral content (elevated hardness) and this has to be reduced for its industrial application. These are used as equipment to condition water before reverse osmosis.
Equipment to demineralize by ionic exchange may be reverse osmosis, resin columns (cathodic, anodic or a combination of both). In any case, this is used to demineralize water from wells, surface or sea with the purpose to produce water for industrial use.
We have the necessary experience to ensure the temperature reduction of process water to the specified levels to guarantee maximum efficiency in the production process.
